Welcome to The UpLift Kit…

The UpLift Kit is an eCommerce service and blog designed by a former chemotherapy patient for other chemotherapy patients in Ireland.

I’m Zita and I conceived of and founded The UpLift Kit as I was starting to recover from active cancer treatment in Dublin.

I was 38 when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and it came as a complete shock. It was February 2020 and within a few weeks, Ireland went into the first Covid-19 lockdown. By the time I had my first chemotherapy infusion in March 2020, I was cocooning from friends and family and on sick leave from work.

Over the next year, I underwent chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgeries. All while isolated from my support network. But I am one of the lucky ones. In March 2021, I was given the all-clear. I still have one more surgery to go, but I’m not worrying about that these days!

I recognise how lucky I am. My support network went above and beyond to support, comfort and uplift me from a distance. I want everyone to have that. So here we are! The UpLift Kit is about paying it forward. It will provide products and a gifting service suitable for chemotherapy patients in Ireland, connecting, supporting and uplifting chemotherapy patients and their support network. A ‘one stop shop’…

Please contact me with any suggestions for products or blog posts. Cancer and chemotherapy can be such a terrifying and isolating time for everyone it touches. It’s also a unique experience, so coming together to collectively share our own journeys and provide solutions to others going through it is crucial. Enter The UpLift Kit Blog! A space to share information.

I’m all about communication. I think it’s an important part of the cancer journey to discuss it openly and process it.
